A year of firsts, change, growth and new faces…

Out of a period of low economic growth, Hot Ink pulled an almighty year of firsts, changes, amazing growth and success. We celebrated lots of new things, shiny things, and some old things too…

The launch of our METALLIC GOLD & SILVER INK was met with massive enthusiasm that has continued to grow as our clients experiment with new ways of showcasing this sparkling finish. Being able to print onto dark coloured paper with these metallics has also opened up a whole new range of results for our luxury stationery market.

Our new XEROX V80 PRINTER, with its lovely smooth gradients and the ability to print on EXTRA LENGTH PAPER, has also been a huge success. Jobs that would previously have had to be printed on a large format device, can now be laser printed which not only offers better quality, but also savings on time and cost.

In September this year we handed out our first 15 YEAR SERVICE AWARD to part owner, Andrew Mance. There’s not much that can beat solid experience when you want things done professionally, and we aim to keep all our staff as long as possible so that our customers can benefit from their valuable tricks learnt on the job.

Our FLOURISHING SIGNAGE DIVISION has had to expand in order to handle the growing number of onsite vinyl installations. Trevor Mtshakazana, brings his own experience and a quiet strength to this team, plus an additional Latex printer means we never experience any downtime, thus keeping large format productivity at the maximum.

Meanwhile our FINISHING DEPARTMENT has significantly increased its productivity with the addition of our now youngest member of staff, Jean-Pierre Williams, as well as an automatic card-cutting machine and new corner rounder – fondly known as “Bender”.

All the work our finishing team completes still has to be delivered to our clients, and for this we have supplied our our epic driver with a BRAND NEW SCOOTER. Many of you have seen him delivering in rain, wind and shine to keep up with the growing volumes of work we have produced.

Our COMMUNICATIONS recently got upgraded as we installed a new telephone system and switched over to a fibre-optic connection. This means faster up/download speeds plus improved productivity.

Besides our amazing staff, thanks must also go to our LOYAL CLIENTS who continue to entrust their beautiful projects to us to print, as well as our SUPPLIERS who support us fantastically throughout the year – Hot Ink has much to be grateful for!

In lieue of giving out gifts to thank our valued customers and suppliers, we will continue to support the Amy Biehl Foundation with the amazing work that they do in the form of print sponsorship (more).
