Changing Lives
January 9, 2018, by Lisa SavilleHot Ink was treated recently to live entertainment and a festive lunch, as thanks for our support of the Amy Foundation for the last nine years. What started as a once off sponsorship, has grown into an ongoing relationship which allows us to offer our printing and design skills to an organisation that is doing outstanding work towards developing and empowering the Western Cape’s youth.
It was fantastic to witness firsthand some of the great programmes that they run. We were served a delicious luncheon prepared by their own culinary students, after which we toured the sewing centre and beauty therapy salon on site. Chatting to the students, we got to hear their success stories of how the Amy Foundation has enabled them to seek employment and even start their own enterprises. Many of these same students also took to the stage before we ate and charmed us with some incredible singing skills which would otherwise be hidden from society.
The knowledge that we play a small part in keeping young people not only away from trouble and harm, but in empowering them and uplifting them to gain skills and start careers that would otherwise have eluded their reach, is a great thing indeed.
Instead of sending out gifts each year to say thank you to all our loyal customers, we will continue to sponsor this very worthwhile cause and you should know that your supporting Hot Ink is indirectly changing lives too.
